I apologize in advance for any delay this introduces into our communications, but I have turned the group's 'Moderated' feature on.

I have spent a long time weighing the disadvantages against the advantages. In addition to the potential delay in communication, the biggest disadvantage is, IMO, that we may loose some members who need to feel free to say anything they want to anyone they want anytime they want. I'm sorry for that loss, if it occurs. The advantage that I find compelling, that tips the scales for me, is a reduction in an associated risk; the risk that there are folks here, or folks who could be but aren't, that have something important to say but who have declined to participate because of the risk that they will be publicly 'flamed' by a recognized industry expert. The reward of hearing from you will far outweigh the risk of not hearing from those who leave, especially now that the xpA list is available.

Feel free to tell me, either on the list or back-channel, if you believe that the move to a moderated format will be detrimental to our cause.

Best regards,
Bill
