call for articles

Folks:

I have been asked by Bill Venners of artima.com to edit an Agile zine for 
him, along with several other zines he wishes to launch. I have no trouble 
with the "editing," but I have never cajoled a bunch of authors into 
supplying, without compensation (for now), articles for publication. So I'm 
beginning said cajoling now, to get some of the fear out of the way.

I would really appreciate it if several of you, who are demonstrably 
excellent writers with many wonderful insights and experiences to share, 
would agree to complete one article within the next 4 months on an 
Agile/XP-related topic that fascinates you. If I had three or so articles 
ready to go, I would feel much better about officially agreeing to take 
this on. To make this work, Bill needs me to commit to a minimum of 6 
high-quality articles per year. As I say, there would be no money for these 
just yet. If Bill can get advertising to take off for an Agile zine, then 
eventually there would be some cash for articles.

My notion is that I would try to cover issues of Agile adoption, as well as 
the nuts and bolts of specific Agile practices. I would try to fill holes 
left by other Agile publishers, such as Jim Highsmith's Agile area at the 
Cutter Consortium. I would try as much as I could not to let my pro-XP 
prejudice run amok, and I would certainly welcome well-reasoned 
perspectives of all kinds. If anyone has any more questions or suggestions 
about how to edit such an Agile zine well, I certainly welcome them in-list 
or offline.

I think this will be a big year for Agile advances, and I think there is 
room for another Agile on-line publication, especially one that makes good 
articles available for free.

So!  I need some solid commitments for some articles from some of you 
talented, experience, opinionated folks.

Can I get a hallelujah?  Can I get an Amen?
