Hi Steve, I am not too surprised here, afetr working on some gov. projects and in other formal environments. You will run into people who want 0 responsibility, easier life that way, seems that responsibility means too much trouble. As best as I have been able to determine, they didn't want to be the ones to make the decision. Its been a while, and I may try again. I honestly don't know what they thought the penalty for choosing poorly might be. We were all just getting to know each other at the time. As I was saying with a buddy of mine earlier, I am stumped. I haven't ever run across people who seemed to want all of the decisions made for them. I am oversimplifying right now, but that is a reflection of my frustration. Several of the folks on the team have started taking more of their lives into their own hands. I am hoping that the fact that they end up getting the work they sign up for, thus the more interesting work, will start to get noticed and more people will start to follow suit. One other observation a co-worker made: This is the first job out of school for most of these folks, and maybe they just don't feel ready to make these decisions for themselves. I don't know whether i believe that or not... > -----Original Message----- > From: Dale Emery [mailto:[email protected]] > Sent: Tuesday, February 11, 2003 1:11 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [xpAdoption] Re: Do C-Level managers, and > business drivers > really need to know about XP? > > > Hi Steve, > > > In this case, I really feel that I was asking them to answer a > > question that they didn't want to answer.
