We have a traditional hierarchy with VP's, Directors, and Managers. Our
senior management team "acts" as a collective with each providing
specific roles and capabilities. This team is lead by the CIO, BUT there
is not a single "leader" on this team. It functions by sharing the
leadership roles. Only the tough (legal, regulation, high dollar)
decisions get close scrutiny of the single "leader." Otherwise no work
would get done.

So yes, a team managing managers. Our org and our parent firm is VERY
flat compared to the norm. I'm 4 levels removed from the CEO of a 2.2B
firm. This is not reflective of my position but of the flatness of the
org. we were noted for this among other things when we made the Fortune
top 100 firms list this year.
