Any advice on remote pairing?

I'm organizing a team that works remotely, who are new to XP. I'm new to XP -- a recent convert and true believer in the team approach to development. I even know how to organize the tasks around the use stories and task cards using a storyboard. Agile is great!

I just wonder if a video request by me will work if the users have low bandwidth. Any tips to encourage them to be sure they 'see' each other for at least 15 minutes a day and to work together.

Also, any tips of collaborative software. I'm starting with Asana and we'll be using Skype. If anything, I can certainly get them on the screen -- but me as project manager might be overkill if done every day. I plan to meet them remotely at least once a week and at most 2 time, with getting daily standup email updates from them.
