Re: [extremeprogramming] Origin of term "standup"?

In Scrum, the primary planning takes place in the sprint planning meeting
at the beginning of each sprint.  Replanning would largely be tactical and
reactive during the sprint due to unexpected events.

Where the daily plan interacts with the big picture is usually when
designing the solution for a specific user story, taking into account what
code already exists that can be reused (which may require some refactoring
or even refactoring into a design pattern).  Sometimes a pair may not be
aware of everything in the code base that could be potentially reused, so
this is where either mob programming or others becoming aware of what the
pair is going to do during the upcoming day comes into play.

Unfortunately, many teams confuse this with anticipating what the design
should be in light of near future user stories.  YAGNI is lost on many
Scrum teams.
