(Read this if you're near Washington, DC, or willing to travel there at
some point in the next few months.)

** Schedule:

I think an eight-hour day is just ambitious enough to be a good goal for
the first one.  We should start very early, like 10:00 AM.

The big question, then, is: WEEKEND or WEEKDAY?

The other big question is: what month? Late January is not out of the
question, since I'm pretty sure I can get us more space than we need,
right by a Metro stop. February is also a fine month.

What determines how soon we can do this? We don't need to line up
speakers (just attendees), it looks like there's a bunch of content
already available, and we'll all be bringing our own content (even if
just implicitly).

If people are traveling to DC, they'll need some time to make
arrangements: at least 6 weeks for flying, less for car or train or
boat. So that would argue for February.

I think the answers to the scheduling questions should depend heavily on
how they affect turnout.  (You could also argue that we should just get
one of these done, fast, then iterate.)

** Finer-Grained Schedule:

I dunno: two-hour blocks? After we get a look at some of the proposed
content, maybe we can better tackle this. But we can make this decision
as late as the day of.

** Human needs:

Due to dietary restrictions, the food will of course have to be pierogi.

** Stuff I am completely forgetting about:

????

I hope this is a useful starting point for a discussion.
