The "control" argument again

I just reread George Arvell's comments of August 28, and I found his
arguments compelling, too.  More importantly, they don't contradict the
paragraph I just quoted in my recent mail, so I should be able to find a
way to satisfy both sets of contstraints.  One of George's fundamental
observations is that the whole "control" argument can be eliminated without
actually changing what I'm advocating, so it's hard for me to reject that
advice.

Perhaps this is what everybody else has been suggesting, and I've just been
too pig-headed to allow it to sink in.  If so, I apologize, and I thank
everybody for continuing to press the issue.
