Yes, obviously. There are always means to get things working despite=20
less than optimal tools, like various test and profiling tools.

And I agree that, unfortunately, there aren't that many alternatives for=20
e.g. multiplatform compilation.

Still, I can't help but wonder what could have been achieved with the=20
same effort if something better than C++ had had the same availability=20
and popularity.

That's what it boils down to, isn't it? How much work it is to get your=20
job done with sufficient quality?
