The fact that it is done doesn't make it a good idea. C++ was *never*
intended for GUI app programming. Now that there are high-quality
bindings available--a relatively recent phenomenon--more and more
GNOME and KDE apps are being written in Python, Vala, C#, Ruby, or
Javascript.
