Has anyone used UltraDNS's GSLB service? My understanding is that their "old" solution allowed you to specify which of your datacenters to route traffic to based on which of the 14 or so UltraDNS Anycast nodes that the request came into. Their new solution is based on a Geolocate database which gives you a finer level of granularity and also avoids users being diverted to a different datacenter upon a subsequent request if BGP state changes occur. My understanding is that Neustar is going to move everyone from the old solution to the new Geolocate one in the near future. I have found UltraDNS to be very expensive, and I currently have 1 hour ttls. If we go to GSLB and set TTLs to almost nothing then our volume will go up immensely. Who else would folks on this list trust to host outsourced DNS resolving? Does Akamai provide plain old DNS hosting in addition to GSLB?
