Thats Right, the GSLB page of shame is outdated. But, many DNS implementations still depend on the TTL value. Having said that, there are lot many enhancements that went in GSLB implementations. There is a client proximity feature in some GSLB devices. The client may chose to send DNS request to ANY site, that site will take responsibility of resolving it to geographically nearest site to that client. If the best site is down, the client request will be sent to next best site. There are several other GSLB metrics to choose from - DNS persistence - Network preference - Availability etc., -Ravi.
