Just a quick comment on this point, currently, if using SSL offload, ACE (module and appliance) don't support certificate insertion in HTTP headers, also it's not GSLB capable (Cisco use another appliance, the GSS) and OSPF RHI for VIPs is not supported on the appliance (but you can use an IP SLA probe and conditionnal static route redistribution on the upstream router). If you want to stay with the same vendor check the feature parity between the ones used in your CSS config and the ACE (appliance, the module requires a Catalyst 6500 chassis with a sup720 and the whole bundle is quite expensive :) ) Also there is a migration tool from CSS to ACE configurations (the CLI is pretty close) My other experiences : all LB vendors (cisco, f5, citrix, foundry, radware...) implement the same features so go for the easiest solution to manage or the lowest price, depending on your requirements :) regards, Surya --- En date de : Mar 14.7.09, Tony Varriale <[email protected]> a écrit : De: Tony Varriale <[email protected]> Objet: Re: [load balancing] Replacement to CSS À: "'Load Balancing Mailing List'" <[email protected]> Date: Mardi 14 Juillet 2009, 2h23 If you are a Cisco shop, take a look at the ACE appliances.
