Hi. In fact there are similiraties between CSS CLI and ACE CLI (rserver, servfarm, inservice...) Also OSPF RHI is supported on ACE module (not appliance and it's not on the radar as far as I know). Also when using SSL offload, inserting SSL infos related to a specific session (client's certificate insertion) is currently not available. regards, Surya router# show problem | include solution --- En date de : Mar 14.7.09, [email protected] <[email protected]> a écrit : De: [email protected] <[email protected]> Objet: Re: [load balancing] Replacement to CSS À: "Load Balancing Mailing List" <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected], "Load Balancing Mailing List" <[email protected]> Date: Mardi 14 Juillet 2009, 15h43 i'd have to take exception to this. the cli is nowhere near to being close - the ace is far closer to mqc on ios than anything the css or arrowpoint ever did. i'm also pretty sure that in A2(1.0) and later, rhi is supported with ospf. additionally, what exactly do you mean that they "don't support certificate insertion in http headers"? -- robbie Surya ARBY <arbysurya@yahoo. fr> To Sent by: [email protected], Load lb-l-bounces@vega Balancing Mailing List n.net <[email protected]> cc 07/14/2009 01:01 Subject AM Re: [load balancing] Replacement to CSS Please respond to Load Balancing Mailing List <[email protected]> Just a quick comment on this point, currently, if using SSL offload, ACE (module and appliance) don't support certificate insertion in HTTP headers, also it's not GSLB capable (Cisco use another appliance, the GSS) and OSPF RHI for VIPs is not supported on the appliance (but you can use an IP SLA probe and conditionnal static route redistribution on the upstream router). If you want to stay with the same vendor check the feature parity between the ones used in your CSS config and the ACE (appliance, the module requires a Catalyst 6500 chassis with a sup720 and the whole bundle is quite expensive :) ) Also there is a migration tool from CSS to ACE configurations (the CLI is pretty close) My other experiences : all LB vendors (cisco, f5, citrix, foundry, radware...) implement the same features so go for the easiest solution to manage or the lowest price, depending on your requirements :) regards, Surya --- En date de : Mar 14.7.09, Tony Varriale <[email protected]> a écrit : De: Tony Varriale <[email protected]> Objet: Re: [load balancing] Replacement to CSS À: "'Load Balancing Mailing List'" <[email protected]> Date: Mardi 14 Juillet 2009, 2h23 If you are a Cisco shop, take a look at the ACE appliances. Before you buy, make sure that your existing requirements/features on the CSS are well defined. Then, make sure the ACE supports them. tv -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Kamlesh Mungekar Sent: Monday, July 13, 2009 4:24 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [load balancing] Replacement to CSS We have css11505 load balancers configured as a box-to-box redundancy. We are thinking of moving away since they are almost reaching end of life cycle. Does anyone has any opinion which would be the best replacement for it? We use load balanacer for webfarm load balancing.
