Hi Hans,

with out any out put it would be hard to pinpoint the issue

A few things to check:-

/i/l3/vrrp on both units to check you are master /standby on the correct 
units (including the gateway)
have you configured local nets, check /c/l3/frwd/local ?

It sounds like traffic was traversing both of your Alteons, this is 
called split brain.
