The Octopus cable and the USB adapter are both DTE i.e. they are designed to plug into a modem. The RJ45 layout is arranged so that a rolled cable is DTE, and a straight thru is DCE. What I do is buy a DB9 to RJ45 plug from the likes of Frys (Radio Parts here in Oz) and arrange the pins as below RJ45 Func DB9 DB25 1 CTS 7 4 2 DTR 4 20 3 TxD 3 2 4 GND 5 7 5 GND 5 7 6 RxD 2 3 7 DSR 6 8 8 RTS 8 5 pjc _______________________________________________ lb-l mailing list [email protected] http://vegan.net/mailman/listinfo/lb-l Searchable Archive: http://vegan.net/lb/archive http://lbdigest.com Load Balancing Digest http://lbwiki.com Load Balancing Wiki
