When did you have your last segfault with Java? :-) Some more background about me: I've grown up with an Amiga and for a long time, I was indifferent to having an MMU in my computer. The AmigaOS just didn't support it and hell, why would I need one? Well, then I got in contact with Unix and I found that being able to be notified that someone is currently trying to corrupt memory is nice. The question is: C works perfectly well for low-level driver programming. Why invent another language which tries to solve an already solved problem? Even in AROS, a rewrite of the AmigaOS, we try to offer users a way around to have to use pointers directly because they break so often.
