Friends,
Many of you are working with evolving software, so ICSM is the best
venue to present your work. This year I am serving as the publicity
chair, so I know a lot about the conference, and the location (my
undergrad Alma Mater). I encourage you to submit your work. I am
especially encouraging people who can present industrial experience.
Below is the Call For Papers. I am looking forward to seeing you in
the beautiful and friendly Timisoara, Romania.
26th IEEE International Conference on Software Maintenance
September 12-18, 2010 Timisoara, Romania
http://icsm2010.upt.ro
ICSM is the premier international event in software maintenance. It is the place
where participants from academia, government, and industry share ideas and
experiences for solving critical software maintenance problems.
In 2010, the 26th edition of ICSM will be held in Timisoara, one of the most
beautiful and diverse cities in Romania (Eastern Europe), and at the same time
a city with a vibrant software industry, where software maintenance is at home.
We invite high quality English-language submissions to all conference tracks.
Accepted papers from all tracks will be published in the ICSM proceedings by the
IEEE Computer Society Press, and will be included in the IEEE Digital Library. A
special issue of the Empirical Software Engineering journal (EMSE, published by
Springer) will feature extended, revised versions of the best papers accepted at
ICSM 2010.
RESEARCH TRACK
(submission: April 16, 2010; abstract: April 12, 2010)
Research papers should describe original and significant work in the research
and practice of software maintenance and evolution. Case studies, empirical
research, and experiments are particularly welcome. We also welcome papers that
present leading-edge ideas in software maintenance. The research track
will feature full papers only. Short papers should be submitted to the ERA track
(see bellow).
EARLY RESEARCH ACHIEVEMENTS (ERA) TRACK
(submission: June 28, 2010)
For this track we invite short papers about great ideas in an early stage of
research. Participants will have the opportunity to present a summary of their
work in form of a (short) formal presentation and of a poster.
DOCTORAL SYMPOSIUM
(submission: May 17, 2010)
We welcome submissions of young researchers that have delivered their Ph.D.
dissertation in the field of software maintenance and evolution within the last
2 years (2008-2009). Additionally, ICSM 2010 will have a symposium
dedicated exclusively to Ph.D. students who are in the midst of their doctoral
studies in software maintenance.
INDUSTRIAL TRACK
(submission: May 17, 2010)
This track invites submissions of industrial applications and practices, which
can include state-of-the-art descriptions, state-of-the-practice reports, and
survey papers from real-world projects and industrial experiences.
TUTORIALS
(submission: May 17, 2010)
We invite tutorial proposals on state-of-the-art topics related to software
maintenance.
TOOL DEMONSTRATIONS
(submission: June 28, 2010)
We invite submissions for tool demonstrations on any topic related to software
maintenance and evolution. Demonstrations will be in an open session to allow
individual interaction with the participants.
