Perhaps your attempt at an explanation will make more sense that way? Also, could you use the word "character" from your phrase "character as expression" in a sentence using layperson terms? Your usage of the word makes no sense to me given the lack of necessary context in which you present the phrase, so it's proving to be a hurdle in my understanding of your jibberish.
