Thankyou for this - very enlightening.

Throughout my own manuscript I have used "lead time"
for your "cycle time". I may have to consider changing
this - or perhaps just define the usage at the
beginning.

There is no doubt that in common usage there is some
ambiguity in the use of these terms.
