Cory,
I have used NUnitForms, and can recommend it, with this qualification: I've
often spent some time writing tests, only to realize that I should be
pushing logic down from the presentation layer. I've also had some trouble
testing complicated custom controls, even those I've written myself, when
they weren't designed to be properly testable. For example, the control is
really driven by the mouse clicks, and then, when I embed that control in a
dialog, I realize I don't know how to test it w/o moving the mouse to a
certain position, &c., &c. However, I suppose that a lesson learned late is
better than a lesson learned too late.
Note that Nunit *does* require the dialog hosting the control(s) you want to
test needs to be Show()'n; otherwise the control has no GUI handle yet. I
don't know enough about Windows to know why this is the case, but I don't
have any complaints about it. The tests would probably be faster if I didn't
have to call myTestDialog.Show() before I started exercising buttons and
what-not, but this hasn't become a problem for me yet.
