Hi *, after some discussion (private and public) with members of the PostgreSQL and Python communities I decided to streamline psycopg2 licensing. To maintain the original idea that was behind the original GPL2 plus various exceptions I choosed LGPL3 (plus the mandatory OpenSSL exception). Yes, you'll be able to use psycopg2 in proprietary product (just as before) but no, you won't be allowed to make psycopg2 itself a proprietary product. I hope this will make everybody happy. ZpsycopgDA will still be available under the ZPL (at user's choice) and will be splitted into its own package starting from next release. zpsycopg2da, the Zope 3 adapter was written by Fabio Tranchitella so I am cc'ing him to see what he wants to do with the license. I think it would make sense to move to ZPL only or LGPL3+ZPL. Fabio, if you agree I'll make the changes for you before next release. zpsycopg2da will be moved into its own package to facilitate distribution and packaging. Changes for psycopg2 and ZpsycopgDA have already been pushed.
