OK, the /message/ Gerhard posted at 12:17 where he announced the 
extended setup feature. ;)

I don't have a *BSD box or even a useful 'nix box at the moment so I 
can't comment in detail on your build errors but

src/connection.h:33:21: sqlite3.h: No such file or directory

seems to be at the root of it.
