Python Software Engineer - New York City
- This is a full time position 
- Hired developer will work on-site in New York City 
- Salary to 150k (dependent on experience) 
- Citizenship: Required. Greed Card Ok 


A leading pioneer in providing threat intelligence is seeking a software
engineer with experience mining, scraping, and storing large amounts of
data. Candidates should be self-starters, comfortable working as part of a
team, and thrive in an environment where effort and success are directly
rewarded. Highly compelling candidates will have prior experience with MVC
frameworks, the Python/Django stack, scraping data from numerous types of
sources, and building and maintaining large databases.


Ideal Skills and Experience


* Experience with MVC frameworks, especially the Python/PostgreSQL/Django
stack or other object-oriented languages, as well as web-focused programming
languages/libraries like JS/jQuery/Bootstrap/AJAX 
* Prior experience in data mining, including intimate familiarity with
regular expressions to parse data 
* Experience with large database architecture, distribution and
application/server load balancing and managing production database servers 
* Comfortable working with numerous languages and character sets 
* Working knowledge of API technologies (JSON/XML) and data streaming 
* Knowledge of best system security practices for applications and platform
development, including access control and encryption/decryption algorithms 
* Experience with machine learning 
* Ability to work in a team environment using Git 
* Strong problem solving skills
