Dear List, I am sorry that I did not make myself clear but I understood this list is for people / companies looking for contract Python work. Raleigh Holding is a startup who has just been promised seed funding. So, we now can start looking for coders to do the project <grin> But when the cash arrives is up to the idiot lawyers. Project: ezi-wrap - A wrap account for self-managed investments especially DIY superannuation and pensions. --- Steven Lott <[email protected]> wrote: > > > I'm not too sure it is a "very small" ERP system. > The issue as I understand it is the complexity of > financial instruments. In Australia, we have a mandatory savings system where a minium of 9% of your wages goes into a self-funded pension plan. Superannuation is just called super in Australia. As on 1 July people will be allowed to specify *ANY* super plan legally available. Australia currently has over $Aust 680 Billion (US$ 540 Billion) in super funds with about Aust$ 8 Billion (US$ 6.3 Billion) added every month. By 2015 Australia may have over Aust $ 2,000 Billion in super. The US government is looking at a similar system of private pensions rather than using Social Security. In Australia we have very low government pensions and for nearly twenty years Australian have been encouraged to save for themselves. <If you are doing real assets (e.g., stock) it should >bestraight-forward. No, most ledgers with ERP systems are *MUCH MORE* complex than is required but having extra features will help in the future. > Then, if you permit derivative trading, all bets are > off, sincethose are quite complex. Yes, but we want to record the transaction in so to automatically format required government forms for tax and super compliance reporting. > Even if the broker cooperates and provides access > via XML (or > other protocol), each broker probably >has uniqueinterface requirements, leading to a large >and complex set of interfaces, one for each broker, >and possibly separate interfaces for > separate products. We are not going to be dealing with brokers mostly but the providers of the mutual fund. The point being to remove all the middleman. Most of the largest providers are Industry-based co-ops. Where everyone who works in that industry super is put into a low cost not-for-profit fund but with super choice the money can go anywhere. The industry funds are worried that banks and big insurance companies will have bigger advertising budgets and get more of the money. The industry fund are very cheap as they do not advertise and are *VERY WELL RUN*. They constantly beat the fund managers who charge up to three times the fees that the low cost funds. We aim to make it easy to invest in the low-cow high as we have a XML messaging standard. The industry-based super funds are worth more than $Aust 400 Billion and we will offer free access to large number of members to get clients. > This sounds, actually, quite large and complex. All the basic messaging code will be released I don't think *any* of the compliance code will be as that is what charge our clients for the simpification of reporting their paperwork.
