Job Summary:
A growing data company is seeking a qualified candidate to lead its quality assurance team.  The successful candidate shall be responsible for managing all aspects of quality including data quality assurance, software quality assurance and operations quality control.  The successful candidate will work closely with internal project teams and external clients to ensure all aspects of client data as transformed to print and web based reports meets stringent quality standards.  The Director of Quality Assurance is focused on improving and maintaining overall data health throughout operations. The primary areas of responsibility include identifying and resolving data quality issues, driving quality initiatives, monitoring of data loads, software execution, and final production reports to ensure they are operating as intended, troubleshooting data failures when they occur, and making recommendations and enhancements in an effort to reduce recurring operational quality failures and ensure 100% data quality overall.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  a.. Work with executives, project managers, client managers, and technical leads to define a full quality program including detailed test plans. 
  b.. Implement auditing and notification processes to proactively identify and resolve quality issues. 
  c.. Work with client managers and data analysts to resolve external data issues. 
  d.. Work with data architects, developers and DB administrators to resolve internal data quality issues. 
  e.. Review new data specifications and proposals for impact to quality plan. 
  f.. Communicate and train all relevant individuals on test specifications. 
  g.. Work with appropriate resources, including systems group, on data transfer acceptance, release of data to production and performance of software according to requirements.

Education and Experience:

  a.. Bachelor degree with at least 8 years relevant experience in QA of data and software and 4 years experience in managing a QA team. 
  b.. Strong knowledge of a QA process including developing test plans and quantifying quality. 
  c.. Solid knowledge of databases and SQL. 
  d.. Familiarity with automated testing tools preferred. 
  e.. Web application testing experience preferred. 
  f.. Experience programming with Java and Python in a UNIX environment preferred. 
  g.. Strong leadership and management skills. 
  h.. Strong analytical skills (mathematics or statistics background preferred). 
  i.. Solid communication skills with technical and non-technical departments. 
  j.. Experience leading and implementing process improvement, specifically data quality related.  
  k.. Adept at diagnosing and troubleshooting problems. 
  l.. Available to work extended hours as needed. 
  m.. Team player who's willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
