http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/moinmoin/AppsWithPythonScripting As I've been expanding this wiki page I am thrilled by the large number of products and companies using Python as a "glue" or scripting language. Python seems to be particularly strong in the area of 3D visualization and animation tools including game engines. This may be a market area where Python really does standout because there isn't much in the way of competition except proprietary scripting systems tied to a single game engine (e.g. UnrealScript). Perl and PHP certainly don't seem to apply at all for this kind of work and so far I haven't found a single example of Ruby being used. There is the Lua programming language, but I don't have specific examples of which apps and toolkits use it. Anyway, it is looking like we have a focused market segment or two to capitalize on. I also see the need for more white papers and how to articles on the topic of scripting and extending your application and toolkit with Python so we can get many more companies involved. ka
