If it's the original, it's from 2001. I'd suggest not bothering, there 
is so much good material out there. That's around Python 2.1 - I worked 
(not as the author) on a book released around then that was proud to 
update it's coverage to Python 2.

Seriously - the language has evolved a lot. You will be missing concepts 
that will end up inhibiting your progress, learning about restrictions 
that are no longer, etc.
