I am having difficulty getting wxGlade to run on my Win 7 64 bit desk top PC.

First I down loaded "wxGlade-SAE-0.6.8-setup.exe" and ran it to install it. This succeeded but when wxGlade is run I have the same problem as Cristian Secară reported in this list on 20 Apr.

So I removed the SAE version and downloaded "wxGlade-0.6.8.zip", extracted all the files and put them in D:\Apps\wxGlade-0.6.8, added "D:\Apps\Python\2_7\Lib\site-packages\wx-2.8-msw-unicode" to PYTHONPATH.

Now when I run "python wxglade.py" the following error occurs,
--------
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "wxglade.py", line 310, in <module>
    run_main()
  File "wxglade.py", line 295, in run_main
    init_stage2(options.start_gui)
  File "wxglade.py", line 256, in init_stage2
    import wx

    from wx._core import *
  File "D:\Apps\Python\2_7\Lib\site-packages\wx-2.8-msw-unicode\wx\_core.py", line 4, in <module>
    import _core_
ImportError: DLL load failed: %1 is not a valid Win32 application.
---------

Any ideas how I can get a working wxGlade going on my Win7 64 bit box?

Help appreciated
John
