Not able to load and run wxglade by clicking on a .wxg file in windows 10

I finally got wxglade runningt after some really scary updating. I thought I had lost everything at a certain point but I finally got 0.8.0.b2 of wxglade under windows 10. 
I can click on the ---\wxglade080b2\wxglade.pyw-- icon in the installation folder and it starts right up. I have also put a shortcut on my desktop to start it and one on the task bar. both of these shortcuts have the standard wxglade icon.
The problem is this. if I click on a .wxg file I get a blue dialog that says. "This app can't run on your PC. To find a version for your  PC, check with the software developer" and it has a close box. 
I can open those very same .wxg files from the file open menuitem in wxglade and they work fine. I just can not directly click on them to start wxglade or have them load. 
Yes I have tried right clicking on the icon and going to properties and changing the start in path and file and the starts with path and file. I get the same dialog box.
Any ideas on what is going wrongly?
