I'm pretty sure it's still free even though they want you to register (Apple used to require you to register for a Developers account in order to download their compiler, too. I suspect you can find a copy somewhere else, though probably not legally. But can't you just use a temporary email address and not worry about it? I feel your pain, but here's the deal: you are using a proprietary compiler on a proprietary OS -- that means MS can dictate the terms. period. end of story. Run a free OS if you don't want to deal with that -- fortunately, we do have options.
