Could be due to the fact that either the .ignore() method does not work for functions or that only one of the two overloaded versions is ignored. When I'm finished with moving my stuff to Python 3 I might investigate that further. Using the Wing IDE debugger with the build.py script should help here. Now that I'm up the the most recent versions of Python and wxPython again, I have some interest in fixing things and staying up-to-date. Previously I moved back from wxPython 3.0 to 2.8 again, as I did not see the point in hunting bugs in an end-of-life development branch...
