Thanks Niki, but this accomplishes the same thing as using python's winreg 
library in my previous post.  I also got help from Robin Dunn this 
(https://github.com/wxWidgets/Phoenix/issues/1256).  Before applying this 
function, no plot at all was shown.

My guess is that the IE Emulator processes JS differently than IE itself 
and I need the JS console output to learn more, but I haven't heard 
anything back on wx-users yet.
