Howdy all. Producing quality, common Zope marketing material, in multiple languages is one of the primary goals for Zope Europe. We produced a brochure for the Zope pavilion two weeks ago that is a small first step. However, getting the words into a usable format remains a challenge. Right now you must have Illustrator and some other tools, and we can't use the material in HTML. Thus, this is one of those rare cases where *programming* is the solution to a marketing problem. :^) I'd like to author the product data sheet, brochure, etc. in a neutral format such as XML, then produce quality HTML and PDF from that input. I want it to be easier to manage multiple version of the documents, such as translations. I've done quite a bit of investigation with XSLT, XSL-FO, and some with ReportLab. But since the details of the layout are non-trivial, I'm not close to knowing enough to replace Illustrator. If anybody has these skills (or is interested in gaining them), and would like to help in the production of common marketing material, please send me an email. Tks. --Paul
