That's a relevant point: output EEG data in audio format.
For different reasons: 

Audio format EEG could be easily  be converted in the 20Hz-22000Hz rate. Then the audio format could be interpreted in a specrogram software. There are good spectrograms like SpectrumLab (Windows), or Baudline (Windows, OSX, Linux), that could achieve these analysis.

One could also developp some specific  FFT or Waterfall sketches on Processing or PureData.

The other reason, and maybe I'm wrong, it's a doubt about all these new perspectives using handles and wirless EEGs, implying wifi, BT, or BLE.
I don'f feel comfortable wit a RF frequency emitter near of my head  for EEG feedback and BCI experiments.
Also I'm questionning interference between biological processes and RF. 

I would prefer use a device that allows me to plug a wire in the mic input jack of my mobile device. Then the mobile device, in parallel wit EEG feedback, could transfer (or not) real time data trough the waves.

This alternative could universalize the use of EEG monitoring and exploration on most mobile devices in a safe mode for users.
There are plenty of application on mobile devices that could be developed in this way.

For example I know that the iPhone App "HiJack Oscilloscope" can interpret data trough audio signals.

There also some apps on iPhone (and certainly plenty on Android) like "SpectoWalls" or "oScope" that could give an example about audio EGG input events.

The best in my opinion is to developp a special audio input application that could show brain wave activity in the manner of a polygraph ( like actually "iSeismometer" do but using the accelerometer output of an iPhone).

As many of you know, spectrograms are a great way of viewing complex data, such as EEG data. If you're lucky enough to have Matlab, you have a great tool for making spectrograms.  But, if you don't have Matlab, what can you do?  Well, if you can get your
 EEG data into an audio format (such as WAV), you can use an audio editing program...most of which have a spectrogram viewing mode.

I'm curious to know about additional options for programs that make spectrograms.  What are some more options? Does Garage Band offer a spectrogram view?  Is there a plug-in for iTunes or Windows Media Player that gives spectrograms?  I'm curious to hear
 what you folks use.
