I am very interested in developing a commercial eeg-based brain machine interface as well. The dream is a motor control application responsive enough for gamers. I've seen a number of attempts such as those by emotiv, neurosky, and various research labs like like that of Bin He at the University of Minnesota. So far none are particularly impressive... The work being done with invasive bmi at Brown (Donoghue) and Duke (Nicolelis) is amazing, but not apt for the public obviously. I'm currently building a helicopter sim in C++ at work. I write C and python too though and starting to learn matlab because so many textbooks rely on it. Been teaching myself EE for the last couple of months, hope to be done with the modular eeg + active electrodes in a couple of weeks. Still waiting on some parts, I've got the adc streaming voltage values over rs232 as of now. Point being, if anyone else in interested in developing a bmi, I would enjoy collaborating.
