I'm also interested in making a better OpenEEG. I looked into the current
one a little bit, but it looks pretty difficult to get into and it doesn't
sound very accurate compared to similarly-priced commercial solutions.
Technology has come a long way since the project was started, and now we
have things like the OpenBCI board
<http://docs.openbci.com/hardware/01-OpenBCI_Hardware> and reasonably cheap
muscle sensors
<http://cdn.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Sensors/Biometric/Muscle%20Sensor%20Platinum%20v3.3.pdf>
.

It seems like the design could do with some updating; I'd definitely be
interested in collaborating on that as well. The OpenBCI is actually open
source like the name implies, including the hardware, so we might be able
to make something similar but a bit simpler and more DIY, lacking some
features like the SD card slot, wi-fi, etc. and using through-hole
components to start with.
