Writing simple Java version of reading OpenEEG

I'm trying to write neurofeedback software using Java. I chose to make the
software support OpenEEG as well. I'm having some trouble understanding how
to match timeline with the received samples correctly.
I seem to get complete sample always around 900ms from the device. I
thought it would always send solid 256Hz? It might be that there is also
some problem with my hardware cable or something. Anyway I think the
problem might be very likely in the code because some other software like
Electric Guru seems to produce some nice looking graph when testing on it.
I'm using Olimex EEG-SMT to test this.
