Does anyone care about the user??

I'm not trying to start a flame but why doesn't anyone seem to give a hoot
about helping this user get scigraphica up and running. If the answer is
too obvious for you to give to me, please tell me I'm a dumbass and that
the answer is obvious (only one email is necessary).
Maybe developers are less concerned with the users and more concerned with
developing for developing's sake. Anyway, I've been spending a lot of
time searching the web and working to get scigraphica running. I've
overcome several problems on my own but am stuck on a gtk+extra obstacle.
Please help me. If you really don't care or have the time to help a user
get SG installed, please tell me and I'll quit bothering the list.
My problem is described below.
hello,
Scigraphicalooks great and I'm eager to use it. I'm an engineer looking
for a plotting/fitting utility with a nice gui. I'm switching over to
linux so please bear with me.
I've installed all of the needed programs. Some as rpms but others from
source because I couldn't find the apropriate rpms (Red Hat 9). Configure
is complaining that it can't find gtk-extra. I installed gtk+extra0.99.17
from source without problem although rpm -q gtk-extra doesn't show it to
be installed. I figured this was just because I installed gtk-extra from
source rather than from an rpm.
There is a file
/usr/local/bin/gtkextra-config. I've added this file to ld.so.conf and
run /sbin/ldconfig as suggested by scigraphica's configure but still have
the same errors. I'll past below the output from configure and below that
are the contents of config.log. I know this is probably a simply problem
but a bit of help would be greatly appreciated.
