Hi Everyone,
I just spent a day compiling and juggling the libraries, and got it all 
to compile under Fedora 4.  Aside from the packages
that FC4 includes on the install iso image, I built all the following 
from source on an intel P3 box:
atk-1.10.1
cairo-1.0.0
glib-2.8.1
gtk+-2.8.3
gtk+extra-2.1.1
jpegsrc.v6b
libscigraphica-2.1.1
numarray-1.3.3
pango-1.10.0
pkg-config-0.19
scigraphica-2.1.0
tiff-3.7.3

It took a little juggling with the pkg-config prefix directories and the 
ld.so.conf directories, but it all seemed to compile and install fine.

However, I seem to be having the same issue listed below of no menu bar 
appearing in the main window.  A quick look on the bug list on 
sourceforge finds a bug report that looks similar at:

My plugins ended up at /usr/local/lib/scigraphica/2.1.0/plugins.  
Exporting SG_PLUGIN_PATH set to reference this directory makes no 
difference.  Addding each plugin directory 
(/usr/local/lib/scigraphica/2.1.0/plugins/arrays   etc.) to 
/etc/ld.so.conf seems to have no effect.  I have not tried building the 
latest CVS images.

Thanks to you developers who have put so much effort into this!  I 
really look forward to using scigraphica.
Any advice would be appreciated,
