Hi,

I think you have two things missing: ScientificPython (http://starship.python.net/~hinsen/ScientificPython/) and pygtk (http://www.daa.com.au/~james/software/pygtk/). Don't forget to choose the version of pygtk for gtk-1.2.

Numarray is simply a replacement for Numeric, I think. I don't know the differences between them, but scigraphica8 was implemented for Numeric.

After installing you may have to define the environment variable PYTHONPATH pointing to the pygtk instalation.

Good luck,
Manuel

As you said in your instruction,
first I've installed

gtk+extra-0.99.17
numarray-0.4
Numeric-23.0

I have Python 2.2.2 installed as well and all
other stuff you mentioned in your FAQ.compile which
I've thoroughly read many times.
But I'm still not able to get that package compiled.
It says

make[2]: *** [gnome-login-support.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory
`/Public/Tools/RH_9.0/scigraphica-0.8.0/zvt'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/Public/Tools/RH_9.0/scigraphica-0.8.0'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

So what do I need to do?

thanks,
alex

I'm also sending my config.log as an attachment.
