Has anyone built gtkextra(-2) using gdk framebuffer support (directfb/linux-fb)?

Folks, I'm just curious if anybody else has tried to build gtkextra-2 using a gdk-target of gdk-linuxfb (the directfb framebuffer support), rather than gdk-x11? I see a ./configure option that leads me to believe this has been considered in gtkextra, "--with-gdktarget=linux-fb". However, the Makefiles that configure leaves behind when it is done all point to gdk-x11 stuff, not gdk-fb stuff... I'm going to try to edit the Makefiles by hand to see if I can get it to point to the correct libs, but I'm wondering if this is supposed to be working, or if anybody else has even tried it?
