Mike, thanks for the reply: On Mon, 2005-01-10 at 07:07 -0500, Michael Noble wrote: > > Sounds like you may need to "install" your framebuffer-enabled version of > Gtk, so that the proper package config file (with a .pc suffix) gets > consulted during the GtkExtra configuration. Hmm... I did the install, although I'll need to check to be sure all the bits ended up in the right places. I didn't think about the pkg-config stuff, thanks for noting that. Other GTK apps I have on my box rebuild correctly and use the linux-fb libs, so I'm pretty sure the install happened correctly. Adrian: did the "--with-gdktarget=linux-fb" option in the gtkextra configure script come along for free in the configure script you started with, or did you add/leave it in there knowing it would work? I'm just curious what your original thoughts were on the linux-fb support in gtkextra, so I know where I'm starting from... 8^)= > > Instead I generalized the Debian xvfb-run utility, > which supports running X clients directly against an Xvfb server. In my case, I am targeting an embedded pc system with 32MB flash disk for everything I need to do. I'd rather avoid X altogether if I can manage it, although if the linux-fb stuff ultimately doesn't work out I may need to reconsider...
