RE: Direct export to Ovid Medline

I have just exported 280 references from MEDLINE into EndNote X1, and I did not experience the problems you had with the Author field, Keith.  

I don't know if this would provide an explanation, but in the past, when I've loaded a new version of EndNote, unless I go in and change the folder locations for the import filters, connection files and output styles, I've found that EndNote uses the older versions of these files because the folder locations pointed to the file location for the previous version of EndNote, and therefore, if I updated a file in the newest version of the program, it appeared as though the changes weren't being recognized but in actuality the problem was that it wasn't using the updated file, it was using an older file.  The solution to the problem was to go into Edit/Preferences/Folder Locations and update the locations.  (I assume, though, that this would have been something that the EndNote tech support wo
 uld have had you check.)

While I had no problems with the records parsing properly with my export, I did experience the problem that not all references would be exported, e.g. I tried to export all 280 at once (Ovid has a limit of 500 at a time), but only 164 would be exported.  I tried again, but it still only exported 164 references.  So, I broke up my results into three sets (100, 100 and 80).  I was able to export the first set of 100, but when I tried to export the second set of 100, it only exported 40, but I tried again, and all 100 were exported, although the system stopped at the Filter Manager and I had to choose MEDLINE Ovid from the Filter Manager.  When I tried to export the set of 80, EndNote crashed.  When I tried again, the 80 were exported.

This has happened before, i.e. only a portion of the total number of records are exported and/or the system crashes when I try to export from Ovid.
