Firebox, Version, Etc.

Hi.

A few years ago I successfully flashed a 64MB CF card in a Firebox X1000, got the serial interface working, and got the M0n0wall GUI up, but I was getting persistent "re1 timeouts" and kernel errors, and could only load some of the pages.  I got sidetracked, and now a few years later I figured I'd try again to see how the latest version would work.  I flashed the card (or at least it appears so) with the latest M0n0wall version (1.8.1) but this time I cannot get the serial interface working with the same settings I used before.

So I'm wondering if someone can tell me what's the most recent version that has been successfully installed on a WG Firebox?  Any reason why the latest (FBSD 8) version would not work?

Any suggestions are appreciated.
