Is it worth trying to update from 1.8.1 at all?  I'm running on an APU
board (which runs quite warm in the case...) but the speed is great,
the CPU usage is low, etc.

Hmm... it would be nice if I could underclock the APU board to get
even more heat savings.  It's not like I'm short on CPU performance
here.
