RE: Flaky ADSL Connection/Disconnection Control

Hi Ken,

I have finally been able to contact the ISP. They claim that its the modem's
firmware, though why it has suddenly started doing this after working for
months was unexplained.

The interesting thing is that it happens twice a day, at the same time each
day. Around 1425hrs each day. It started out at 1423hrs on 2 October and has
progressed to 1427hrs by the 20 October, and if the connection has been
manually re-established after this, then it happens again at around 0115hrs
the next morning.

I'm going to upgrade the firmware of the modem so that we can rule that out,
but I'm hoping the ISP will be able to shed some light on what is happening
from there end in the meantime.

Hi laci

No your right these are not excessive values.
I guess your problem lies else where. I suppose your next step is either
to test with a different DSL modem see if there is any change or else
contact your ISP support and get them to check your line.  Unfortunately
at the moment I have no other ideas what you could try.
