I would not be surprised if the revision of code on their DSLAM is
incompatable with the firmware on your end.   While not all that common,
it does happen.

Remember, although the link is talking a defined standard, it's only
code that's implementing it.  If the author of the code on your CPE
didn't implement something right...need i say more.  The fact that it's
occurring at a regular time interval...makes me think that perhaps a
buffer or counter or the like is getting full and unable to continue
send/receive or heartbeats.

Just my experience with things of this nature.
