Sounds like a DNS issue. Try accessing the websites you're having problems with via their IP address instead of their DNS name. Eg: <http://216.239.37.99> instead of <http://www.google.com> If you don't see the slowness when using the IP address, perhaps try using a different DNS server. One additional thing to try on your Windows boxen, if you have any, is an: "C:\>ipconfig /flushdns" ...which should report: Windows IP Configuration Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
