Well that did not work either,  Even using Opera browser which is what I 
use in linux wont work on the windows box.  When I get a chance I will 
try some other browsers.  The one thing that has caught my attention 
though is this.  As soon as I start to type http in the browser on the 
windows computers a little info box appears saying "searching for"
what I don't understand is where its getting the idea I'm searching for 
anything and this is what i find so weird.
